    Cooks great
I bought this about a month ago and tested it out before I put it away. Last night I cooked some soup in it and wanted to pressure cook it. I don’t know if something is wrong, but, it wouldn’t pressure cook it. I kept getting an error of C7, which means it is not heating correctly. I took a knife and gently pushed up the button that goes up to pressure cook and it worked fine after that. I hope I don’t have any more problems with it.

    Not Worth the $$
To start..this kitchen gadget is way to heavy at nearly 25lbs I myself cannot lift it due to medical reasons. It is also very tall in height, having it on my counter i have to lean up and over it to see inside. My slow cooker of 24yrs became a creacked-pot so I thought I would invest in something with multiple gadgets in one. This InstaPot was the wrong choice. This takes about an hour to preheat on slow cooker, Yes an hour even after sautéing items before hand, so cold food in spots after “4hrs” of cooking on high. Cannot pause on this setting either it continues to beep at you even while on warm for serving. The air fryer is more like a broiler being only cooking the browning/cooking on just one side. The pot discolored after the first use. When cooking with lid closed the condensation pools around the rim and causes drips onto counter Be Careful. The inner portion of lid removes for some settings (air fryer for one) this is held in by a small PLASTIC tab seems flimsy at best. The locking mechanism is great for safety hence the 1 star but needs force to shut and causes me to strain when closing. This item is over priced, over weighted and over hyped. The app for recipes isn’t anything you couldn’t simply find online. Not pleased with instapot by any means but now stuck with it due to time frame for returns. Took time to unbox it and get it to the kitchen due to size and weight, then trying different functions.

    Totally worth every penny
This is my upgrade from the original instant pot. I love this. Makes my cooking days so much easier. The air fryer feature is really good. The size is ok, easy to clean but my stainless steep pot inside got some stains after i cooked a soup and it does not go away. But that doesnt bother me much.

Versatile but takes time to learn
If you’ve never used a pressure cooker before, there’s a learning curve and I’d recommend getting a general book on it (I’m still searching for a good one). The main reason I bought it is because New York City is supposedly phasing out gas for reasons of safety (think exploding buildings) and indoor air quality (get an indoor air quality meter off Amazon, fire up your gas range and you’ll be alarmed). This device has a single hinged lid that integrates an airfryer/broiler/roaster element and (removeable) pressure cooker lid. This, it can theoretically replace everything including your oven, stove top, microwave, and toaster because it’s all those things. Obviously, if you want to make a whole big sheet of cookies, then this doesn’t have room for that, but yes, you can technically bake a handful of cookies. It’s best for making anything soupy or stewy, and is surprisingly good at making a kind of “steamed” cake. A handful of YouTube and Reddit reviews report not being able to open the lid for hours – ok there are some tricks:1. Unlike most pressure cookers with the controls on the outside, this is a hands-free “self sealing and releasing” mechanism that’s all internal. The way it works is the internal valve is in a dropped position at the outset; as the pressure builds it forces the valve upwards to seal the pot (ie close the vent) and start cooking. When cooking is done and pressure is released the valve drops down again, opening the vent which causes the pot to display “ok to open lid.” Now, because of condensation, the valve may stay stuck in the upward position. So you just whack it with your hand which causes it to drop. Then you should get the “open lid” message. It’s a bit of a kluge but there you go. 2. When in doubt, put less cooking time. This thing will turn anything to mush otherwise. It’s amazing how you can dump frozen chicken thighs or frozen fish in there, hit 2 to 4 minutes and the stuff actually comes out cooked. In fact, to reheat soup you put zero mins cook time and the mere act of the pressure building up is enough to heat it up. Amazing. 3. When in doubt, make sure you put enough water in there when pressure cooking. The rule of thumb seems 1-2 cups. If it’s not enough, the thing throws up an error and you may have to start over.I was on the brink of returning it within the window after experiencing many of these issues, which I resolved with a lot of googling (always put “reddit” in front of any query and you’ll get an intelligent answer). Having taken the time to figger it out I’m pretty impressed, especially with the minimal cleanup. No oil spattered kitchen! Best of all, the monster fits in my 15-inch IKEA pot drawer so it’s not like the Death Star sitting on my counter. The only competing device is the top of the line Ninja which I understand comes with a slew of additional accessories, but I think the inner pot is either ceramic or enameled. I prefer the solid stainless steel pot of the Instant Pot.Finally, the earlier models with the completely removal lid also have removable sealing rings and some people reserve one for curries and another for cakes. The sealing ring here is permanently bolted on, and there are comments about it soaking up smell of curry, which will mess up your cake. I’ve not had an issue with this and believe life’s too short to worry about it.In sum, recommended but there’s a learning curve.

    Pretty good, slow cooker issue
First off I’ll start by saying all we have used this for is slow cooking, pressure cooking, and air frying. Air fryer seems good. The slow cooker, like the comments say, does not cook well. For mine, it does terrible on LOW setting, I even amped up the cooking time for a dinner that required 5-6 hours, I did it for 8… still not done and not tender!!Lo and behold, cooking on HIGH works great! I think it works even better this way as meat is always tender, and doesn’t dry out as much as high, with a regular slow cooker

A superb dehydrator! Air fryer? Not so much….
If you are interested in this model for the Air Fry function, I recommend you get a different unit. While it can technically be considered an air fryer, it appears to be engineered to maximize dehydration. The temp limit for the air fry is 400F, but if you are getting an Instant Pot, you don’t get it to use it like an air fryer! The versatility of this appliance comes at the cost of taking a bit more time to get up to temp/pressure. If you don’t intend to dehydrate food or do canning, I would instead recommend the RIO line of instant pots, as they are more cost effective and more efficient at their tasks.Basically, this is only for people who MUST have a sort of ‘all in one’ appliance. As I use this for dehydrating food and canning as well as cooking, this is a perfect tool for me.Tips: for everyone complaining about the ‘close lid’ error when trying to use it, you have to have the sound enabled to use it and this is for safety reasons. You also can unscrew a couple screws on the pressure lid to fully remove the silicone liner for cleaning. While this is far from convenient, it is at least possible so you don’t have to get two different lids.TL;DR : Very good all in one pressure cooker with dehydrator functionality.

Los primeros 6 meses funcionó muy bien.En el séptimo mes dejo de tener presión.Tengo más de 1 mes intentando contactar al proveedor y no lo he logrado.

Many problems with this Instant pot and I miss the original one so will purchase another version and separate air fryer. Lid leaks and many errors so pressure cooking was not an option and instant pot support was lengthy and inefficient with tutorials and tests which never resolved the issue. Was using as just an air fryer and now even that doesn’t work. No heat, just the fan sound so does not work at all. Bought 4 months and I am not eligible for a refund or a replacement. Very disappointing

This instant pot blows my ninja out of the water! It is a gem in my kitchen. I love the fact it automatically sets itself and releases the steam . I absolutely love it! It air fries beautifully and even crisping . Very happy with my purchase.

This item is huge, but has lot of features that is very useful. We bought this just for the air fryer, and it works perfectly. We’ll most likely use it as pressure cooker also in the future. Only thing I noticed is the weird smell that it gives out when we use it, maybe due to its still new, we’ll see in a few more uses. But the best part is my wife loves it!
